The verdict has just come down on the Montreal Canadiens' autonomous restricted players.

Canadiens general manager Kent Hughes announced Monday that the club has submitted qualifying offers to five players.
The offers were submitted to forwards Kirby Dach, Nate Schnarr, Joel Teasdale and goaltenders Samuel Montembeault and Cayden Primeau.

So effectively, Josh Brook, Kale Clague and Rem Pitlick did not qualify and are released by the Tricolore. In the case of Pitlick, it is a surprise for many:
"It's a bit of a surprise that Rem Pitlick didn't receive a qualifying offer from the #CH after putting up 37 points in 66 games but at the same time, the #Canadians already have too many forwards and more importantly, Pitlick was arbitration eligible!" - Marc-Olivier Beaudoin
