The ultimate proof that Bergevin loved Gallagher too much!
When Marc Bergevin loves, he loves with passion. Just think of the hug he gave Carey Price last summer. Or the way he talked to Shea Weber. Or the way he talked about his little "Gally". Or his too-long love affair with Trevor Timmins.
In short, this love has sometimes pushed him to be a little too generous, as was the case when he extended Brendan Gallagher's deal. The six-year, $39 million pact startled many. Then, regarding that extension, did you know that "Berg" tased Gallagher's agent?
"Gallagher says that during the difficult negotiations for his latest contract, Bergevin called him to just talk, regardless of the tense discussions between the general manager and Gallagher's agent."
That's how close Marc Bergevin was with some of his flock during his (just over) nine years with the Montreal organization. With this "talk", it is obvious that "Gally" contacted his agent in order to rectify the arduous dialogue between him and Marc Bergevin.
