As usual, the Montreal Canadiens' players were available to answer questions from reporters after today's morning practice, and it was young Juraj Slafkovsky's media availability that caught our attention today.
The young Slovakian forward talked about his suspension and revealed that he made a strong gesture towards Matt Luff.
Let's remember that Luff had to undergo surgery, due to a serious injury sustained following the check by Juraj Slafkovsky (the one that earned him a two game suspension).
"Matt Luff will be out for a minimum of 10 weeks following the check from behind by Juraj Slafkovsky." - Renaud Lavoie
Here's finally what Slafkovsky had to say, on the matter, in the last few minutes:
"Juraj Slafkovsky says he was watching the puck more on the hit that got him suspended; he said he contacted Matt Luff afterward (to apologize) and Luff texted him back to thank Slaf for apologizing."
We love it! Slafkovsky also confided that the announcement of his suspension (by the NHL) played a nasty trick on his family:
"Juraj Slafkovsky's family was in town this weekend but obviously didn't see him play while he served his suspension; Slaf says his mom is finally staying longer (in town) so he's hoping he'll be in the lineup tomorrow."
