The Montreal Canadiens lost their 7th ranked goal scorer per game as the team announced the departure of Gustav Lindstrom via waivers yesterday
When we mention that the Montreal Canadiens really need reinforcement in attack and outright need "goals", see a statistic that perfectly illustrates it.
This comes from the excellent TVA Sports journalist Anthony Martineau.
If we tell you that the Canadiens lost Gustav Lindstrom to the NHL waivers, we agree that it's not the worst news of the year.
However, it sounds different when we say that the Canadiens lost to the NHL waivers yesterday, one of their best goal scorers per game. Ouch.
In the "unusual" category:
The CH loses, via the departure of Gustav Lindstrom to Anaheim, its sixth best scorer in terms of average goals/game.
Wow...
We are not talking about this statistic to lament Lindstrom's departure or to say that Hughes made a mistake.
We simply talk about it to illustrate quite clearly the fact that it's sad to see that Lindstrom was sixth. (7th now)
This proves that the Habs really needs attack!
And the standings after last night's game.
It's incredible to see that the Canadiens are still in the race for the NHL playoffs despite the fact that the team is among the three worst teams in the league for scoring goals.
This will be a file to address for Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton.
