The Montreal Canadiens have submitted the names of Xavier Ouellet and Louie Belpedio on waivers, in order to assign them to the Laval Rocket.
The two veteran defensemen will help the young wolves of the organization, thanks to their previous experience. The Habs had a surplus of defensemen in their hierarchy, so their chances of breaking into the starting lineup were really minimal.
However, they will be part of the cornerstones of the success of the Rocket. With the absence of Josh Brook until 2022, their contribution will be colossal in Jean-François Houle's team.
