According to reports from The Athletic, which closely covers the Montreal Canadiens, the organization just hired two new scouts for the 2022-23 season,
They will be in charge of amateur scouting in the U.S. and are likely to spend a lot of time monitoring the work of young
Adam Fantilli, who is a very special player and is expected to go top-3, overall, in the 2023 draft.
Fantilli, 17 years old and 6 feet 2 inches, put up a solid 74 points in 54 games in the USHL in 2021-22.
He will play in the NCAA, starting next year. (University of Michigan)
Anyway, these two new recruiters are: Billy Ryan and Albie O'Connell.
Ryan is a Panthers alum and is the main architect of the team's 2020 draft. Remember that they drafted
Anton Lundell and
Emil Heineman (now in Montreal) at the time. Two solid selections.
O'Connell, on the other hand, is the former coach of Boston University. (NCAA) The two new scouts (Ryan and O'Connell) know Gorton and Hughes very well.
