National Hockey League prospect expert Scott Wheeler (The Athletic) just published a very interesting article, in which he decides to start over the order of the 2019 NHL draft (if it happened today), in this case it's the infamous Cole Caufield draft.
According to the renowned Wheeler, one of the best in his field, it is the Montreal Canadiens who made the greatest theft of this first round.
According to his new rankings, young Cole Caufield makes quite a leap (he goes from 15th overall to 5th overall). This is big for the CH, who managed to turn a 15th overall pick into a 5th overall pick... A jump of 10 positions!
Just ahead of Caufield, we find J.Hughes (who stays 1st), Trevor Zegras (who goes 2nd), Moritz Seider (who goes 3rd) and Matthew Boldy (who goes 4th).
As for the Habs' new acquisition, Kirby Dach, he has dropped all the way to ninth place, despite being the third highest scorer in the 2019 draft.
