The Montreal Canadiens organization has just made its first big wave of cuts.

In total, 23 players are cut, including Gianni Fairbrother, William Trudeau and Jan Mysak.

"MONTREAL -- Club de hockey Canadien general manager Kent Hughes announced Friday that the team has cut 13 forwards, eight defensemen and two goaltenders, for a total of 23 players.

The players will report to the Laval Rocket's training camp, which gets underway on Sunday, Oct. 2."

Here are the players that have been cut:

Lucas Condotta, Gianni Fairbrother, Cam Hillis, Jan Mysak and Joel Teasdale

Pierrick Dubé, John Parker-Jones, Miguël Tourigny and William Trudeau

Peter Abbandonato, Anthony Beauregard, Gabriel Bourque, Santino Centorame, Tory Dello, Philippe Desrosiers, Ryan Francis, Olivier Galipeau, Alex Green, Danick Martel, Émile Poirier, Brennan Saulnier, Brett Stapley and Joe Vrbetic

These players will report to the Laval Rocket's training camp, which starts this Sunday.
