Left out and ignored numerous times by his head coach since the beginning of the season, young Shane Wright seems to be on his way to getting his best opportunity of the 2022 season.

As the Kraken practiced this morning for tomorrow's game against the Nashville Preds, Wright received an unexpected promotion.

Dave Hakstol made the decision to put him on the second line!

An important decision

So check out the Seattle Kraken's new combinations, as of today:

Burakovsky-Wennberg-Bjorkstrand

Wright-Beniers-Eberle

Tanev-Gourde-Kuhlman

Donato-Geekie-Sprong

Defenders:

Dunn-Larsson

Oleksiak-Schultz

Soucy-Borgen

Let's wait for the final confirmation that will come tomorrow, but all indications are indeed that Wright will have a golden chance to make his mark on his team's second trio, along with the excellent Matty Beniers and Jordan Eberle.

It will be interesting to see how he responds, as he has been frustrated with his role for the past few weeks.

Wright, 18, has just one point in seven games this season (one shot on goal overall and one hit this year).

Do you think the fourth overall pick in the 2022 draft will be able to keep that role and establish himself in the NHL for good? Do you think Shane Wright will take that opportunity?

Some believe that this is a potentially big test, as the Kraken is considering whether or not to send him back to junior.

Stay tuned!
