The Hurricanes just made a big decision with Kotkaniemi and it's causing a lot of reactions from fans

Despite his disappointing play since the beginning of the season, Carolina Hurricanes head coach Rod Brind'Amour insisted on keeping Jesperi Kotkaniemi on the second line.

A big decision has just been made.

On this Wednesday, November 23, Jesperi Kotkaniemi has officially lost his spot on the Canes' second trio.



In comments, Hurricanes fans seem very pleased with the decision, they who seem really discouraged with Kotkaniemi's performance and contract (some are even calling for him to be sent back to the AHL)

Kotkaniemi has accumulated a very low 3 points in 19 games this season, and his ice time is falling. Remember, he's signed through 2030, at almost five million per season. Ouch.

Drury, 22, was drafted 42nd overall in 2018.
