The Habs' first line just surpassed the duo of Matthews and Marner in one category

Since the beginning of the season, Martin St-Louis has been holding auditions to find the ideal candidate to complete the first trio of the club with Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield. Many have had their chance, but few have taken it, except perhaps one player, Kirby Dach.

Dach seems to be enjoying himself since joining the two prolific players and the trio is currently having a great run. The last week of the three players, as mentioned by Renaud Lavoie, proves it very well:

It seems that Dach has finally found his place in the organization after a difficult start to the season. If he continues like this, he who currently has 10 points (2 goals and 8 assists) in 12 games, could accumulate more than 68 points, over an 82 game season. Even if he doesn't reach that mark, his contract for three more seasons leaves room for improvement. He could be a bargain in 1 or 2 years, with his $3,362,500 salary, if he continues.

As for Suzuki and Caufield, the two young men have become the most productive under-23 duo since Keith Tkachuk and Teemu Selanne in 1993.

Just think, that's better than the Matthews-Marner and especially McDavid-Draisaitl duos before they were 23. That's pretty impressive and, more importantly, exciting!
