Knowing the history between the two organizations, it's quite ironic, but the Carolina Hurricanes have just acquired another former Montreal Canadiens.
They're picking up another Habs player. This time, it's defenseman William Lagesson, who goes from the CH to the Canes.
Lagesson, 26 years old, has just signed a one-season, two-part deal worth $750,000 with Carolina. He will earn $225,000 if he plays in the American Hockey League.
Of course, Lagesson played three games with the Habs in 2021-22 and had one point. He probably wasn't going to re-sign with Montreal anyway.
Reminder of how he ended up here:
"Brett Kulak was traded to the Edmonton Oilers last March in return for a second-round pick this year, which became Lane Hutson, a seventh-round pick in 2024 as well as defenseman William Lagesson."
