In the final minutes, forward Pierre-Luc Dubois answered questions from reporters, days after accepting the qualifying offer from the Winnipeg Jets (1 year/6 million)
He was obviously questioned about the rumors concerning him:
"I went to the draft (at the Bell Centre) because I live 15 minutes from the arena and because I am a hockey fan." - Pierre-Luc Dubois
"I think people took one little thing, one little detail, and they made too big a deal out of it." - Dubois, when asked about comments made by his agent Pat Brisson, who said (on live television) that Pierre-Luc would like to play in Montreal
The Quebec forward insists that he is preparing for next year, that he is not overly concerned with the rumors and he has not requested a trade.
When asked about his long-term future in Winnipeg (or Montreal), Dubois had this to say:
"When my contract is up, then we'll deal with that." - Dubois
It's up to you to interpret it your way. One thing for sure, he didn't deny the fact that his plan would be to become a free agent in 2024, he didn't deny that he would like to play with the CH, but Dubois adds that he hasn't asked the Jets for a trade.
