The 2018 first-round pick (28th overall) scored just one goal and four points in 25 games with the Rangers last season, but he racked up three goals and 15 points in 34 games with the AHL's club-school Hartford Wolf Pack. He is stuck behind more established defensemen like Adam Fox, Jacob Trouba, K'Andre Miller, Braden Schneider and Ryan Lindgren and has not been able to earn the trust of head coach Gerard Gallant.
According to Lyle Richardson of The Hockey News, clubs in need of depth on the right side of the blue line, such as the Arizona Coyotes, Detroit Red Wings, Montreal Canadiens and Vancouver Canucks, could express interest in Lundkvist.
He thinks Drury will be patient with the matter, though.
So it wouldn't be surprising if Drury gets calls from Arizona, Detroit, Montreal and Vancouver, and will wait for the best offer before pulling the trigger.
Following the release of the news last week, CH fans were already making trade proposals, including the one below. Do you like it?
