The Canadiens and Kent Hughes just made their first signing of the off-season
Kent Hughes and the Laval Rocket recently reached an agreement with Miguel Tourigny for a one-season contract.
This contract is for the American Hockey League. Tourigny's arrival in Laval comes at a perfect time, just before the start of the AHL playoffs.
Miguel Tourigny is a young 21-year-old player from Victoriaville, drafted in the seventh round by the Montreal Canadiens in 2022. This season, he played in a professional league in Slovakia, where he managed to accumulate 26 points in 43 games. This performance is quite remarkable and demonstrates his skills on the ice.
"The Rocket has announced that it has agreed on the terms of a one-season contract (2023-24 AHL, one-way) with defenseman Miguël Tourigny."
- Laval Rocket
Indeed, Miguel Tourigny's arrival in Laval comes at a very fortunate time for the Rocket. With his skills on the ice and his strong season in Slovakia, he could provide a high-quality reinforcement to the team if needed. This is therefore excellent news for Rocket fans.
