In addition to the saga including Jack Eichel, the Buffalo Sabres staff just stepped in where it doesn't belong. The Sabres have unveiled the numbers that the newest additions to the organization will wear, including Aaron Dell, Vinnie Hinostroza and Will Butcher. At first glance, it seems like a very little piece of news, but if you look closely, it doesn't make sense. Aaron Dell, the organization's new goalie, has decided to go with the number 30.
Fans then recalled that this number should be considered untouchable, as it belonged to the team's former star goalie, Ryan Miller. Some fans showed their displeasure, thanks to many reactions.
"They gave the 30 to Aaron Dell? Seriously?"
"I don't know how or why the number 30 was assigned, but it seems insane. No one has worn it since Ryan Miller. Good luck to Aaron Dell having to deal with this situation."
"I'm sure Aaron Dell is a nice guy, but unless Miller decided to let Dell wear 30, the Sabres shouldn't have assigned the number of the winningest American goalie in history to an ordinary goalie."
This is the kind of decision that has the Sabres struggling to generate credibility throughout the Bettman circuit...
