TVA Sports' reporter is uncomfortable with a certain aspect of Brendan Gallagher

This season, now 29 years old, Brendan Gallagher will start his new deal that will allow him to pocket an average salary of $6.5 million dollars. This deal will pay him a total of $39 million and will end after the 2026-27 season. We are talking about a lot of money for a player who will play on the 3rd combination, according to logic.
On the other hand, we must not forget that he has been underpaid for the colossal work he has done since his entry on the big stage. His previous contract gave him an average salary of $3.75 million, which is still a bargain for a guy who scored 19, 10 (injured), 31, 33, 22 (in 59 games) and 14 goals in 35 games respectively during those six years, right?
Anyway, Anthony Martineau, a promising young reporter for TVA Sports, is not comfortable with the amount of money Marc Bergevin has given to Brendan Gallagher. He is promoted to play on a 3rd unit... and he often ends up in the infirmary, which tickles Martineau and many fans of the Montreal Canadiens.
His uneasiness increases when he notices that the average salaries of Nathan MacKinnon, Mark Scheifele, Brad Marchand, Jonathan Huberdeau and Aleksander Barkov will be lower in 2021-22... It's true that the logic doesn't hold if you analyze it in depth. Although! Can we say that he's claiming cash that he hasn't received beforehand? We're talking here...
In short, despite his salary, we all love what Brendan Gallagher brings to the Montreal Canadiens, he who certainly has the Canadiens tattooed on his heart. A true warrior!
