Dan Kramer, who is a popular hockey columnist and junior hockey expert for the TSN690 network, has proposed a trade between the Montreal Canadiens and the New Jersey Devils, including the first overall pick.

The news came out a few weeks ago, Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton have reportedly shown strong interest in former Devils sixth overall pick Pavel Zacha. (Drafted in 2015) Kramer adds to this and mentions that his sources also tell him the same thing.

The Tricolore is interested in Zacha, a youngster who just turned 25 and has nearly 50 points/82 games over the past three years. In 386 career NHL games, the Czech has 179 points.

Kramer's proposal would be as follows:

To Montreal: Devils' 2022 first-round pick (2nd overall) + Pavel Zacha

To New Jersey: 2022 first round pick of the Habs (1st overall).

Do you like the idea? Personally, again, I'd keep the pick and draft Shane Wright, but the debate is interesting and if Hughes or Gorton love Slafkovsky or Cooley, that could be an option.

On the other hand, considering we know the Devils pick is available on the trade market, it would be interesting to see a trade proposal (from an expert) to go get him, without having to give away the first pick overall.
