Surprising change of situation in the Habs' goalie depth chart

Behind the scenes, there is a great story that has not been discussed enough in recent weeks concerning the organization of the Montreal Canadiens.

That of goalie Kevin Poulin.

A goalie who was booed in the Bell Center by his own supporters during the most recent preseason games. A goalie who started in the ECHL, and who played a good part of the season there, with the Lions of Trois-Rivières.

Yesterday, this same goalie was playing his 12th game with the Laval Rocket and, with another sensational performance, this time against Cleveland, Poulin officially earned a permanent position in Laval.

His record in the AHL this season? 8 wins, 3 losses and one overtime loss, a 2.38 goals-against average and a 0.923% save percentage. Solid!

Because of Poulin's breakout, Michael McNiven could suffer and have to continue his season with the Trois-Rivières Lions. His future with the Habs is increasingly bleak.
