Surprise announcement and recall of Joshua Roy to place him on the first line with Suzuki and Caufield? That's what has just been suggested by Bob Hartley
In his column yesterday on BPM Sports radio, former head coach Bob Hartley put forward an extremely interesting idea for the Montreal Canadiens.
As Martin St-Louis is clearly still searching for the perfect winger to place on the first line with Cole Caufield and Nick Suzuki, why not call up Joshua Roy and give him a golden opportunity?
Hartley explained that an AHL head coach always has accountability to his players, and it's never easy to handle situations when a less deserving player gets the call.
Joel Armia's recall was more understandable, but if the next forward called up isn't Joshua Roy, who's having an almost historic start to the season, it's bound to stir up talk.
Roy has 11 points in five games; he's doing very well.
In short, if Martin St-Louis continues to struggle to find the perfect partner for his first line, with Cole Caufield and Nick Suzuki, a very interesting decision might be made.
Bob Hartley, for his part, wouldn't hesitate at all.
He'd make sure Joshua Roy is in Montreal, with the CH, in a significant role alongside Suzuki and Caufield.
