Surprise: A prospect from the Canadiens just signed a long-term contract in the KHL and it raises a big question in the case of Bogdan Konyushkov
In the last few seconds, it was announced that prospect Bogdan Konyushko, recently drafted 110th overall in the last draft by the Montreal Canadiens, has just signed a three-year contract in the KHL.
Last season, Konyushkov racked up 25 points in 64 games.
According to many, he could become a draft steal and become an impact player in the NHL, but this signing raises many questions.
This is indeed special.
In the official statement from his team, it is outright stated that he is a significant part of their team and that being drafted in the NHL (by the Habs) gives him credibility and value.
Many are therefore wondering if the young man used the CH to increase his value at home. He has just signed a nice contract anyway.
More details to follow.
