The names Patrick Roy and Stéphane Quintal have been stuck on the Montreal Canadiens for a while, even before Marc Bergevin was fired.

Some saw Quintal as a potential president and Patrick Roy filling both roles, he who hates reporting to bosses.
In short, names are circulating on Twitter, but behind the scenes, they are not circulating as much since none of them have been contacted by Geoff Molson.
Should Patrick Roy really be one of the candidates? Not necessarily, if it did not click between him and Molson before the hiring of Bergevin perhaps that Molson simply does not want to meet him again.
As for Stéphane Quintal, seen as a perfect president of an NHL organization, he still hasn't received any call from the organization, according to JP Bertrand (La Dose).
Quintal was not even considered for a position in the Canadiens organization, which shows that he is certainly not the man they are looking for.
Who will become Jeff Gorton's puppet? It's hard to believe that it will be a man of experience... Look for Mathieu Ducharme, Daniel Brière or Roberto Luongo!
