In a recent article, Sportsnet raised a major and very real trade proposal involving the Montreal Canadiens and the Vancouver Canucks.

We remind you that this is a Sportsnet proposal. It is not ours. It is up to you to judge:

To the Montreal Canadiens - Bo Horvat (C)

To the Vancouver Canucks - David Savard (D), Jayden Struble (D), Owen Beck (C), the Panthers' 2023 first round pick + a 2024 third round pick.

Personally, one of the reasons we'd turn down this proposal is because Beck and the Panthers' 2023 first round pick are too valuable, but it's still worth discussing.

It just doesn't make sense for Kent Hughes to make this trade right now.

"The inclusion of the 2023 first-round pick is the most baffling part of this proposal. There is absolutely no way Kent Hughes would consider trading such an important asset in what should be one of the best drafts in recent memory." - Marc Dumont

Well said!

Brock Boeser and Thatcher Demko (depending on price) seem like much more logical targets.
