In the last few minutes, excellent news has been announced for former Montreal Canadiens defenseman Jordie Benn.
He has just been given another opportunity in the NHL, having officially signed a professional tryout contract, and it's at home to boot.
Benn is returning to the Dallas Stars organization and has agreed with them on a professional tryout contract.
He was an unrestricted free agent.
Let's remember, of course, that Jordie is the elder brother of Jamie Benn, a star player for the Dallas Stars, and also note that he played there from 2011 to 2017. (before being traded to the Montreal Canadiens)
He resides in Texas.
Benn, 36 years old, is a 6-foot-2, 200-pound defenseman. Last season, he played 12 games with the Toronto Maple Leafs and 23 games with the Toronto Marlies.
He played for our Montreal Canadiens from 2016 to 2019.
We wish him the best of luck; he is a very endearing and amazing teammate!
