In an interview given to local media in Slovakia, Slafkovsky mentioned that his knee is doing very well. He's been skating for a while and believes his lengthy eight-month absence won't be too noticeable.
Interestingly, the 2022 draft's first overall pick mentioned that he will be moving on to another phase next season, but off the ice. Indeed, he's going to leave his host family in Montreal to move out on his own. Better yet, he wants to take care of Filip Mesar while the latter is in town. The two good friends can thus support and encourage each other in this new stage of their progression.
As for the expectations of the fans, the young man is well aware that they will be high. However, he is very confident in his abilities and knows that he will bounce back next season.
