As Jeff Drouin highlighted in his most recent article, to our great surprise and delight, there's increasing talk of the playoffs at the Montreal Canadiens.
Even Chantal Machabée, the Vice President of Communications for the Montreal Canadiens, recently allowed herself a moment of excitement.
Here's what she declared:
"It's a great group of guys. We're having fun. I'm telling you: we could surprise some people." - Chantal Machabée
Wow! That's really wonderful to see.

Nothing is impossible and it costs nothing to hope, but what's especially interesting about a statement like this is that it clearly shows the mentality behind the scenes at the Canadiens.
They believe in themselves, and the mindset seems to be extremely positive in the locker room right now. What more could you ask for?
Personally, if we had a healthy Kirby Dach and Alex Newhook right now, we would believe too.
However, without them, it will be difficult, but we have already seen much crazier things happen in the past. The Seattle Kraken comes to mind.
In any case, it's really great to see Chantal stepping forward publicly like this and it gives hope. She also shared a little anecdote that says a lot about the quality of the group currently in place:
"When Josh Anderson was named first star and he was cheered, I always wait for the player to take him to the locker room. The players heard this cheer. And when Josh entered the locker room, he received a cheer inside the locker room. And it was so beautiful. I had tears in my eyes." - Chantal Machabée
And you, do you believe in the playoffs as early as 2024?
