Last night, the Montreal Canadiens pulled off an upset win over the Pittsburgh Penguins, thanks in part to Kirby Dach's goal, but also to Cole Caufield's tying goal.
Note here the incredible pass from
Jonathan Drouin on this sequence that is making the rounds on the web today.
Well speaking of this game, captain
Nick Suzuki made a surprising statement in a post-game press conference about it.
Everyone thought it was all planned out, so much so that it was perfect, and surprisingly, that's not the case at all:
"Nick Suzuki said that play was not at all what was planned by Alex Burrows during the timeout. It was purely Jonathan Drouin making the perfect read and making the play. It looked like a perfect execution of a perfectly planned play, but it wasn't. It was just Drouin seeing what was in front of him and making the perfect play."

When it comes to his great potential and undeniable talent, here's some pretty clear evidence. Drouin assessed that the planned play probably wasn't going to be the best, adjusted in the heat of the moment, and made the perfect play, on his own.
The result: Cole Caufield completed the maneuver, sending everyone to overtime, and eventually allowing the CH to upset Pittsburgh.
We love it! Solid, Jo Drouin!
