The press conference that followed Wednesday's practice had a rather comical moment. While Brendan Gallagher was on the podium to answer questions from reporters, the CH number 11 learned of the nickname the Laval players gave to Rafael Harvey-Pinard.
It seems Harvey-Pinard is nicknamed Lavalagher by his Rocket teammates. The resemblance to his own name has Gallagher noting that the nickname will eventually have to change.
The young man is nicknamed that because his style is too similar to the CH's number 11. Gallagher wants to change it mainly because he strongly believes that Harvey-Pinard has the potential to make the transition from the AHL to the NHL.
The Habs recalled Harvey-Pinard earlier this week to replace Paul Byron (lower body injury), Joel Armia (back in Finland), Michael Pezzetta (suspended) and Jake Evans (ill).
In 64 games this season with the Rocket, the seventh-round pick (201st overall) in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft has 19 goals and 32 assists for a total of 51 points. He also had one goal in three games with the CH in his first stint with the club.
