The Ottawa Senators announced that they have extended the contract of defenseman Victor Mete for one year, worth $1.2 million. He will avoid going to arbitration.
Remember that the former Hab had been claimed off of waivers by the Senators last April 12.
He had a good time with the Senators, he accumulated a total of 2 points in 14 games, in addition to having maintained a +5 differential. His contribution is much more important than his offensive record, as he plays very well defensively, while re-launching the attack.
He will inevitably take on more and more confidence and responsibility in D.J. Smith's system next year.
The 23-year-old back was a fourth round pick of the Montreal Canadiens in 2016.
