Earlier this week, we told you about an interesting announcement from the National Hockey League, which has decided to recreate the famous Heritage Classic, in honor of the famous match-up between the Montreal Canadiens and the Edmonton Oilers in 2003. (the game of the famous José Theodore toque)
We expected this duel to be between Montreal and Edmonton, but no, Bettman and the NHL decided otherwise.
According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, the Heritage Classic, which will be held next season in Edmonton, will finally oppose the Calgary Flames to the Oilers.
The first Heritage Classic took place in 2003, between the CH and the Oilers. A replay, 20 years later, would have been a nice nod from the league.
