In the last few minutes, the Montreal Canadiens organization announced a much deserved signing:
"The Canadiens agree to a three-season entry-level contract (2022-2023 to 2024-2025) with
William Trudeau."
- Montreal Canadiens
Trudeau has had a great camp over the past few weeks with the Habs, and he will have been one of the nice revelations for many.
"The deal will pay Trudeau $750,000 in the NHL in 2022-2023 and includes a $92,500 signing bonus, while he will earn $10,500 if he plays junior. Trudeau will earn a salary of $80,000 per season in the American league.
Trudeau, 20, spent the last three seasons with the Charlottetown Islanders in the QMJHL, recording 90 points (20 goals, 70 assists) in 166 games.
Trudeau was selected in the fourth round (113th overall) by the Canadiens in the 2021 NHL Draft."
- Montreal Canadiens
This is great news and a superb reward for the young Trudeau, who absolutely deserved it.
See the explanation:
"The CH had William Trudeau sign his entry-level contract to play with the Rocket. Schueneman's recall following the loss of Matheson, along with Fairbrother's injury (season over), opened the doors of the organization to sign the 20-year-old D." - Marc Antoine Godin
Now, on to Cole Caufield's next contract? (Joking, but with a grain of truth)
