If there's one player who can relate to Cole Caufield right now, it's Max Pacioretty. The former Habs #67 had a few stints with the Hamilton Bulldogs once upon a time before settling with the Montreal Canadiens for good.
Moreover, in Pacioretty's case, it was three stints, totaling 82 games in the AHL before he was firmly entrenched in the Montreal lineup. The American forward took some time to find consistency in his game, but today he can say mission accomplished.
He is now a consistent 30-goal scorer in the NHL and he scored 24 goals in 48 games last year.
Sometimes a goal scorer takes time to develop and find his rhythm, but with patience, it can pay off big time.
After all, Max Pacioretty did bring Nick Suzuki and Mattias Norlinder to the Montreal Canadiens.
Pacioretty may not be in the hearts of Habs fans, but you have to admit that he is a good hockey player with good offensive assets, including a phenomenal wrist shot.
