Marie-Philip Poulin received a funny post-game gift

The Canadian women's hockey team was playing a preparatory game for the next Olympic Winter Games against Finland yesterday.
If Quebec's Marie-Philip Poulin once again distinguished herself with a goal in the 4-2 victory, it was not her performance that drew the attention.
As tradition dictates, one athlete from each team is named player of the game and receives a gift after the game.
However, it was the gift that didn't quite make sense to the fans as Poulin received a curling iron from Luc Tardif, president of the IIHF. Yes, you read that right!
There are different opinions about this international hockey gesture. Many think it is a good idea while others call it stereotypical.
If male hockey players often receive a watch as a gift, this gesture shows once again the progress that still needs to be made for there to be equality in the sport.
In short, it will be interesting to see what kind of gift Team Canada players receive at the next Olympic Games.
