With another loss last night, the thinking is starting to move in the same direction among the multitude of hockey analysts covering the Tricolore: rebuilding. Of course, when we talk about rebuilding, we expect to see young players come into the organization in order to develop them and bring them to their full potential.
Mitch Gallo, a journalist covering the Canadiens on TSN690, suggests that Marc Bergevin should try to get his hands on 22-year-old Senators defenseman Erik Brannstrom.
Indeed, Brannstrom's name has often been associated with the Habs. On the Sens' side, the Swedish defenseman does not seem to be in the team's plans, as he has been shuttling between Ottawa and Belleville for the past few seasons.
However, the one who was part of the trade that sent Mark Stone to Vegas is a defenseman capable of moving the puck well with very good skills. However, there are a lot of prospects on the blue line with Jake Sanderson, Jacob Bernard-Docker, Lassi Thomson and Maxence Guenette.
In 64 NHL games, Brannstrom has 17 points. Last year was his best season with 13 points in 30 games.
Should Marc Bergevin take a chance on this former Golden Knights first round pick? What price would you be willing to pay for him?
