Since the beginning of the season, the Shane Wright file has been the talk of Seattle, and unfortunately, it is not for the right reasons.

He is constantly being left out by his head coach, he is not playing, the frustration is growing, and he even seems to be on the verge of being sent back to the junior ranks.

This is definitely not the start to his career that he wanted.

Wright, 18, is the Kraken's fourth overall pick in 2022 and has one point in seven games this season.

In a recent appearance on Sportsnet, tipster Elliotte Friedman made a major statement about Wright and his head coach.

It really says a lot about what's in store for Wright over the next few weeks:

Friedman on TJMS: "It's very clear that unless Hakstol is absolutely forced to play Shane Wright more, he's just not going to play much in Seattle this year [...]" - NHL Watcher

Friedman then adds that all indications are that Hakstol has absolutely no desire to play Shane Wright. What a bizarre situation...

We also learn here that the OHL would do well to look at this as a great opportunity to possibly see Shane Wright back in the junior ranks.

It would be quite a turnaround, but it does seem to be a real possibility. Stay tuned!

What would you do if you were in the Kraken's shoes?
