Laurent Dauphin has now played 12 games in the Montreal Canadiens uniform. The 26-year-old is able to keep his spot because of his work ethic, but it may take more than that if he wants to stay in the lineup.
He and Michael Pezzetta must succeed in finding a specific role in order to remain in a Montreal Canadiens jersey. These players must follow the example of Artturi Lehkonen, who makes himself practically indispensable thanks to his versatility and his instinct in killing penalties.
Martin McGuire asked Dauphin about this, and he made it clear that Lehkonen was the perfect example for him.
"I think that Lehkonen is really in my range of players, we really have a similar style. So I definitely see him as a guy I have to follow (his path) and then play like him!»
That is why I am shouting out loud and clear that the Montreal Canadiens must retain the services of Lehkonen, even though he is in great demand as we approach the trade deadline.
