We have just learned that goaltender Magnus Hellberg, who was placed on waivers yesterday by the Ottawa Sens, has been claimed by the Seattle Kraken.

An interesting acquisition for the NHL's newest expansion team.

Also, goaltender Laurent Brossoit has been placed on waivers by the Vegas Golden Knights.

There's movement on waivers.

Finally, another interesting fact, defenseman Nikita Zaitsev, who has the exact same contract as a certain Mike Hoffman and who was an established NHL defenseman, he just went through the waivers WITHOUT being claimed.

He will report to the Sens' club-school.

The case of Zaitsev is very interesting. We're talking about a 31 year old right-handed defenseman, who earns 4.5 million per season until 2024, just like (well, look at that) forward Mike Hoffman.

This is the kind of move that sets an interesting precedent for Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens. It could give him a hint on what would await a Mike Hoffman or an Evgenii Dadonov, if one of them is placed on waivers .

Going back to the claimed goaltender, Hellberg is a 6-foot-6, 209-pound goaltender who was drafted 38th overall in 2011. He played one game with the Sens this season (one win and 0.935% efficiency).

More details to follow!
