The man who is now the executive vice president of hockey operations for the Montreal Canadiens, general manager Kent Hughes' right-hand man, Jeff Gorton was interviewed on the "Bob McCown podcast" and he made some very interesting statements.
Jeff Gorton was a guest on the Bob McCown podcast and he had this to say. "We'd like to (still) add a few things before the start of next season, however, I don't know if that's going to happen."
Interesting! So Gorton confirms that the Canadiens are still working on a few things and he announces his colors: there will obviously be (at least) another acquisition before the start of next season.
At least, they are trying to add a few things.
Despite the numerous signings and trades of the last few weeks, it's not over and there is still movement to come for the Montreal Canadiens. We love it!
Jeff Gorton confirmed he still wants to make some personnel changes.
That's not surprising, though, considering the Habs don't have the cap space right now to sign the organization's new young center,
Kirby Dach.
Which one do you think should go first? Drouin? Hoffman? Dadonov?
And when Gorton talks about acquisitions, what acquisitions is he talking about? Let's not forget that the rumors of
Pierre-Luc Dubois and PK Subban being sent to Montreal won't go away.
