After winning three of his first four starts, Jake Allen is going through a rough patch, having lost his last seven games.

The three-goalie rotation continues for the Canadiens, and now that Samuel Montembeault has just signed a new three-year deal, trade rumors surrounding the veteran goalie will keep circulating in the NHL.
That said, it's believed that Kent Hughes is shopping Jake Allen to another team, as according to Tony Marinaro, Allen seems fed up with the ongoing three-goalie situation at the Canadiens.
"Allen looks annoyed. It means that the three-goalie rotation system doesn't suit him at all," were his comments during his appearance on the JiC show on TVA Sports.

He then went on to say that Kent Hughes should trade Allen to another team and retain part of his salary, to which the colorful Jean-Charles Lajoie replied:
"He's not tradable! Put him on waivers and send him to Laval! It's not complicated!"

Let's just say that it's a clear stance.
The discussion continued, and Marinaro also mentioned that Jake Allen's potential had been reached and that it should be Cayden Primeau who stays with the Canadiens.
"It's a rebuilding team that can't compete against the league's best teams, so why get rid of Primeau?"

It's clear that the three-goalie situation within the organization is not unanimously supported by the various journalists covering the Canadiens, and there's a consensus that a decision needs to be made sooner rather than later.
