Tragic Announcement From Cole Caufield's College Coach: the Scoring Winger Has Shared His Thoughts on His Mentor's Crushing News
We were talking about it very recently, but the hockey world has learned terrible news as the excellent Tony Granato unfortunately announced on Monday that he is suffering from non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
The former player and coach of the National Hockey League posted this:
Granato was notably the coach of Cole Caufield with the Wisconsin Badgers at the University of Wisconsin in the NCAA.
He has also coached with the Colorado Avalanche, Pittsburgh Penguins, and Detroit Red Wings, in addition to playing 774 games in the NHL.
In short, following this sad announcement, Cole Caufield broke his silence and he had a lot to say about the extraordinary mentor Granato has been and continues to be for him.
See the publication and the report by Eric Engels:
Caufield notably mentions that he is at a loss for words, that he immediately contacted Tony to support him, and that Granato is a true warrior.
Caufield also reveals here that Granato still writes to him every time he scores a goal and that they have a great relationship.
We truly wish him a speedy recovery.
