For obvious reasons, we were concerned about his health, and it seemed very unlikely that he would be back on the ice anytime soon.
However, there is already some news in this file and it is quite a surprise.
Penguins head coach Mike Sullivan announced today that Letang was already back on the ice this morning. Unbelievable!
Well, we're not talking about a full practice, but Letang did get in a low intensity skate just hours after his stroke.
That says a lot about his determination and his intentions.
Sullivan even added that Letang already wants to come back and practice at full intensity with his teammates, but the team refused to give him the green light.
The Penguins want Letang to rest after this scary episode.
A real one at that! We're obviously not experts, so we won't comment on that, but we just wish Kris the best of luck in returning to the game when he's 100%, and when there's absolutely no risk of recurrence or complications.
That's the most important thing, beyond hockey.
