A few hours after the Montreal Canadiens', it was now the Ottawa Sens' turn to do their end of season review.
The GM Pierre Dorion made a few announcements, including an important one for the future of former Montreal Canadiens defenseman Victor Mete.
Mete, as well as forwards Chris Tierney and Tyler Ennis, will not be re-signed by the Sens this summer and will therefore become an uncompensated free agent. (free as a bird)
Remember that Mete was picked up by Ottawa from Montreal on April 12, 2021. He played 37 games this season with the Senators and collected 7 assists. (no goals and a -19 rating)
The Sens give up on his case.
It will be interesting to see what happens next in his career, because it could very well continue elsewhere than the NHL for Victor Mete. He's still young, but he didn't manage to break through one of the worst defensive brigades in the league, in Ottawa.
We can forget about Montreal, there is no place for him here.
