The first is Quebec left winger Jakob Pelletier. Drafted in the first round (26th overall) by the Calgary Flames in 2019, Pelletier is a small striker with undeniable offensive talent and exemplary attitude.
In his first season in the professional ranks, the 20-year-old forward sits atop the Flames school-club scoring table, with a 33-point tally, including 12 goals, in 33 games.
The other two names circled by Martineau and Cloutier are defenders Nils Lundkvist and Braden Schneider. Both of them belonging to the New York Rangers, these two rear-ends could be used as bargaining chips to allow the Rangers to improve on the other positions since Adam Fox and Jacob Trouba are considered undefeatable on the right side of the defence.
The two young men, aged 21 and 20, each have some experience in the NHL and the AHL. Lundkvist is described as an offensive defenseman, and extremely mobile, while Schneider is a rather robust defenseman with a good vision of the game, somewhat like a Kaiden Guhle.
