Several good news yesterday morning at the Montreal Canadiens practice, the most important being the imminent return of defender Joel Edmundson, who participated in his first full training and who is on the current trip with his teammates.

He is very close to a comeback.

It was the topic of the hour in the Habs locker room and the players almost all talked about it during their post-practice press conferences and the conclusion is obvious:

«He's a great guy, on and off the ice. He's a real leader for all the guys in this locker room." -Josh Anderson

«I think he's more vocal. And when he plays, he leads by example. He's a big defender, who plays the right way, an intelligent player. But in the locker room, he expresses himself a lot. He likes to bring the team together, and I think that's his greatest strength. He is a good leader." -Nick Suzuki

Jeff Petry also spoke of Edmundson's great leadership and his words spoke volumes. The players seem really unanimous.

Currently, the leadership of the team seems to be provided by head coach Martin St-Louis, some have even suggested that he is currently "the captain" of this team, but eventually, if the team decides to name another one, another active player, don't be surprised if the honor goes to Joel Edmundson.

In any case, it would be a unanimous choice among players and he seems to be the choice of his peers.
