According to the latest information shared by Renaud Lavoie, the hiring process is going very well at the Montreal Canadiens to determine who will be the next general manager.
Some candidates have already been met and others will be met by Friday, including Patrick Roy.
"The first round of interviews will end on Friday if everything goes as planned, we are meeting virtually two to three candidates a day."
The second round is expected to begin this week with the remaining applicants.
In addition, according to the informant, the hiring of the next GM should be done within ten days.
"There may be a second round next week with the goal, within ten days, of making an announcement."
There is Patrick Roy, certainly, there are several other names mentioned in the rumors, including Daniel Brière, Mathieu Darche, Danièle Sauvageau, Emilie Castonguay, Marc Denis, Kent Hughes, Stéphane Quintal and even Roberto Luongo.
We'll know within the next two weeks, from what we can tell.
Lavoie also disclosed that the name of Martin Madden Jr. was not considered in the candidates. The Anaheim Ducks intend to keep the services of the Quebecer.
