Geoff Molson has just taken a historic step
The big boss of the Montreal Canadiens, Geoff Molson, has made a historic move.
As he mentioned himself, this is the first time in the organization's history that he admits to being in a "Full rebuild", a complete reconstruction.
A phrase that has elicited many positive reactions on the web, as many observers praised the fact that the big boss finally admits that the Canadiens are in complete reconstruction. (even if Kent Hughes is hesitant to say it)
This is a historic phase, never before experienced in Montreal, but which seems very beneficial at the moment.
With all the young talent acquired, it bodes well for the future!
Mr. Molson added that he expects to see his team progress, grow this season, even if the goal is not necessarily to make the playoffs in the short term.
He even revealed the exact moment when the decision was made, which is not insignificant!
"It was a big decision two years ago, to decide to rebuild this team, and as we've seen in the NHL, it doesn't happen overnight."
- Geoff Molson
He goes further.
This is my 15th year with the CH, and I would say we never wanted to do this (completely rebuild), we never wanted to use that word, we used words like "small rebuild", "reset", but now, it's a complete and total reconstruction.
And I believe this is the first time in the organization's history that we are doing this today. It took courage.
