In an interview with the excellent Marco D'Amico of Montreal Hockey Now, Filip Mesar made a very interesting revelation about the player who has impressed him the most with the Habs.
Without any real surprise, his choice is Nick Suzuki. However, it is especially the reason that the Slovak gives for the fact that the captain is the most impressive player that made people react on social networks.
According to him, the intelligence of the number 14 is striking, even in training.
"I was watching Nick Suzuki because in every practice he is the smartest player on the ice. I don't know how, but he's so smart." - Filip Mesar
The 26th pick of the Canadiens in 2022 also adds that he is fascinated by Cole Caufield, due to the fact that he is extremely talented on the ice and because he is not the biggest player like him.
"I was also watching Cole Caufield because he's smaller. Like me, he's so good and fast on the ice with a good shot. I want to have a shot like his and be smart on the ice like Suzuki. I want to learn from them." - Filip Mesar
It's nice to hear a prospect want to learn from the team's two young stars, plus it's clear that even though they're young veterans, Suzuki and Caufield already have a big imprint on the organization's young players.
