For several days, Vancouver Canucks forward Brock Boeser has been at the heart of trade rumors. The Canucks have even given Boeser and his agent permission to find a new destination.

This Thursday, in the latest edition of 32 Thoughts, Elliotte Friedman adds his two cents on the situation. He thinks that the Washington Capitals could very well be interested in the Canucks' forward and that they could even sacrifice Quebecer Anthony Mantha.

"Team I'm wondering about for Brock Boeser: Washington. This is a personal opinion, but I wonder if a Boeser-Anthony Mantha move makes sense for both. The Capitals need a shocker, and as GM Brian MacLellan said last weekend, they can't get off balance financially until Nicklas Backstrom's availability is clear. Mantha's cap hit is slightly lower than Boeser's, and he's a year younger - something Vancouver would like. Anyway, just a thought."

It should be noted here that this speculation comes not from what the reporter heard behind the scenes at the league, but from personal instinct.

One thing is certain, there seems to be interest in the league regarding Boeser. At the CH game in Vancouver earlier this week, no less than 11 teams were represented on the press gallery.

With all the attention this file is getting, it would not be surprising if it is settled soon!
