Dominique Ducharme confirmed this afternoon the identity of his goaltender for tomorrow night's game against the Carolina Hurricanes.
It will be Samuel Montembeault who will get the start. The Quebecer will be the starting goaltender for a second consecutive game for the first time since he joined the Habs.
With Carey Price injured, Jake Allen and Cayden Primeau on the COVID-19 roster, Dominique Ducharme has decided to trust Montembeault to handle the net. He will be assisted by Michael McNiven.
Dominique Ducharme also gave an update on the players who tested positive for COVID-19. According to him, no player on the protocol is ready to return to the lineup...
The CH head coach mentioned that Byron did not have COVID-19, but rather someone around him. He is back in Canada.
Cayden Primeau will spend his quarantine at his family home in New Jersey before returning to Canada.
