Montreal's 2020 first round pick Kaiden Guhle is literally shopping for a job with the big club. The rational decision would be to send him back to the Prince Albert Raiders in the WHL, but it seems Dominique Ducharme is tripping over the Shea Weber lookalike.
He's made some solid first passes, given away some good checks and played some good hockey since the start of training camp. The Habs will give him every chance to perform well, as he has been paired with veteran David Savard since the beginning of camp.
Dominique Ducharme never closed the door on the fact that Kaiden Guhle could start the season in Montreal. If Joel Edmundson wasn't injured, the scenario would probably be different, but Guhle took advantage of the opportunity. A decision has not been made, however.
One thing is for sure, Guhle is not leaving anyone indifferent. He will play in Montreal sooner or later. Could he get a nine-game trial to start the season? It doesn't seem like an impossible scenario!
